Advantage are currently recruiting for a Shift Manger for our manufacturing client. Our client strive to become the market leader within this sector providing clients with a one stop shop for all manufactured components, with a health order book this is a great opportunity to join a solid company . Working out of the main site based in Bradford the Shift Manager will be responsible for ensuring scheduled tasks are achieved as planned and quality standards are set & adhered to.


The Role

·         Day to day management of the production department shift, through allocation of work and effective machine and personnel utilisation

·         Progress chasing Orders against, Planning, Delivery schedule & problem solving.

·         Manage warehouse personnel (FLT Drivers), engineers and Maintenance department activities affecting Production and deliveries outside of core hours

·         Smooth and comprehensive shift changeovers

·         Stock replenishment, raising parts requisitions

·         Employee reviews, development, discipline

·         Health & Safety of site & Personnel during shift

·         Promote Teamwork and motivation between employees

·         Have a two way approach to communication by communicating with departmental employees and senior managers

·         Support and develop your own and your teams skills on machines, products/equipment to develop a multi-skilled workforce

·         Reduce scrap and rework by correct application of procedures

·         Prevent poor quality from being supplied to both internal and external customers

·         Apply best practice procedures at all times

·         Monitor product quality via, quality control check sheets, visual checking and dimensional checks, recording timber issues and detailing decisions made throughout the shift for analysis

·         Fulfil all requirements under current H&S legislation, with help from senior management

·         Always ensure safe working practices.

·         Ensure PPE is worn at all times within the designated areas

·         Constantly seek to implement and improve a safe working environment

·         Ensure all department adhere to company policies & procedures at all times

The candidate

·         Must have previous Shift Management experience

·         Have strong organisational skills

·         Must be able to motivate & encourage staff to achieve required targets

·         Be confident in achieving targets & working under pressure

·         Set & manage goals & KPI’s



Salary & Remuneration

·         £24,000-£27,500 Per annum

·         26 days holiday plus stats
