I am currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager with CIPS qualification for our manufacturing client based in Bradford. Our client strive to become the market leader within this sector providing clients with a one stop shop for all manufactured components.  Working in a small team with a family feel this position will offer a great opportunity to work closely with a number of departments within the business

The Role

·         Leading a full review of procurement practices, developing and implementing improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement with the business stakeholders.

·         Manage the day to day performance of Commercial Procurement activities and liaise with the Purchasing Director

·         Complete a review of  the purchasing practices & strategy , including embedded governance, SLA, contracts etc. and provide recommendations for improvement

·         Manage Contracts / Suppliers and Content, Requisition, Sourcing Support and Data and Market Analytics within the business

·         Work with the Purchasing Director to effectively plan and deliver agreed upon procurement support services throughout the business

·         Own and manage procurement support services, processes and operational procedures within the business

·         Accountable for all activities required to be performed within commercial procurement.

·         Deliver & maintains high customer satisfaction by processing transactions accurately to meet agreed service levels for specific areas

·         Identify risks associated with delivery of the assigned tasks within the business processes and escalate, mitigate, resolve as required

·         Supports establishing and managing both service level and operating level agreements with internal customers (e.g., turnaround times, lead times needed)

·         Support the resolution of escalated issues

·         Provides performance reporting to board Directors as needed

·         Identifies and supports pursuit of continuous improvement opportunities

·         Train, develop and coach teams and assist them with complex activities as needed

·         Motivate and help the operational teams in order to provide services contributing to the delivery of business objectives

·         Work with process owner to understand root causes & represent process procedure, practicalities & exceptions


The Candidate

·         Strong procurement experience within procurement delivering against targets

·         Ideally hold a CIPS qualification or working towards this

·         Proven success in managing, organising & completing multiple tasks & priorities

·         Experience implementing sourcing methodologies for category management

·         Strong knowledge of procurement concepts, processes & techniques including commercial contracts, negotiation skills & relationship management

·         Proven experience in developing a best-in-class indirect management spend program

·         Demonstrated leadership talent with the ability to motivate all levels of stakeholders by keen business acumen, excellent judgement, professional competence, credibility, flexibility & personal integrity

·         Educated to degree level or relevant experience

·         Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint  

·         Ability to build productive working relationships

·         Ability to influence change in others through role modelling
